With the upcoming celebrations, vacations, parties, meetings and all the indulgences that come with this time of the year, everyone wants to look and feel their best. That means knowing glowing inside out. Of course, this also means managing a jam-packed schedule as you navigate your daily life alongside all the festivities. But some basic tweaks in your lifestyle can help you unlock the secret to get a natural glow.

A lot of people ask, “How can I increase my face glow?” or “How to get a natural glow overnight?” The answer is that a bit of proactive planning can give you a jumpstart during this season. Start looking after a few simple things from now on. So that when the time comes, the hectic schedule does not overwhelm you or take away your glow.

Best tips to get a natural glow on your face

Here are a few tips and tricks that will make sure you’re ready for the festive and party season, the best time of the year!

1. Hydration

Drinking enough water is the first step to ensure that your body functions well, your skin does not break out, and you can cope with the extra activity. Set a goal for yourself before the season starts and aim to keep your water intake the same throughout the season. Staying hydrated is important, especially if you’re drinking alcohol. My tip to avoid those nasty hangovers is to follow every drink with a glass of water. The morning after drinking, remember to replenish lost electrolytes. My go-to drink for this is coconut water. Himalayan pink salt mixed in water also helps in keeping active and is especially good to drink after a workout.

2. Get enough sleep

If you’re trying your best to find out how to get a natural glow, try regulating your sleep. Early starts and late nights are a staple of this season. So make sure you sleep on time when you can, and don’t skip those afternoon naps. A well-rested brain helps you function better.

3. Make time for tiny workouts

Try and plan your days in a way that leaves little pockets of time for activities such as stretching or some light cardio. Staying active counters the effects of overeating and gets you energised, leaving you with glowing skin naturally.

4. Balance your food intake

I do not believe in using the term “cheat meals”, nor associating with the guilt that comes with them. So, even though the festival season is a time for indulgences—lots of mithai, lots of food, and lots of drinks, there is no need to follow extreme diets before or after, or limit what you eat. But you must ensure to balance your diet so that it remains wholesome. Start training yourself to eat nutrient-rich meals from before and understand what your body needs. Once you give your body balanced meals, it won’t crave for junk food as much.

5. Stick to your skincare routine

Lots of outings mean lots of makeup. Remember to also hydrate your skin while hydrating your body. Take off your make-up every night and always moisturise. Exfoliate to rid yourself of makeup dirt, pollutants, etc. Stick to your skin-care routine, but if you don’t have time, cleansing and moisturising should do the trick.

6. Practice breathwork

Take some time to practice Yoga, Pranayama and breathwork. All these engagements can be overwhelming. So start your day with some breathing exercises like the Nadi Shodhana which promotes relaxation and keeps you calm. That will give you an unmatched glow!

A combination of all of these tips can really help you with the natural glow – inside and out. After all, you can only look as good as you feel inside. Eating wholesome meals, staying well-hydrated, staying active, pampering your skin, and incorporating yoga and breathwork into your routine are all you need to feel, look and be at your best this festive season.
