1. Consent:

According to the expert, this is the “most important” aspect of sex, and we can’t agree more! Asking a woman if she is okay with each move you make is “so sexy”, says Dr Divya. But if we may add, it’s also respectful and an expression of the fact that the partner cares and treats the woman as equal.

2. Cuddle:

The importance of foreplay cannot be undermined when it comes to spicing up a sex session and bring your partner closer to the female orgasm. The build-up with kisses, nibbles and cuddles, can just not be left out. “Cuddling and foreplay can be tremendously arousing for you and your partner. It also helps your natural lubes to do their job,” explains Dr Divya.

3. Communicate:

Communication is not just the foundation of a great relationship, but also of great sex! Talking to each other about your likes, dislikes, comforts, discomforts and sweet spots can be “sexier than you think”, says Dr Divya.

According to a 2019 study published in the The Journal of Sex research, there are benefits of communication during sex. Yes, sexual communication was positively associated with sexual desire, sexual arousal, lubrication, orgasm, erectile function, less pain and overall sexual function. Everyone may not be completely okay with this, but oral sex can be an extremely intimate experience. Dr Divya introduces cunnilingus as an oral sex act performed on the vulva or vagina. Explaining why this heightens sexual pleasure and could be vital in helping a woman orgasm, she adds, “The clitoris is the most sexually sensitive part of the human female genitalia, and its stimulation results in her becoming aroused or achieving an orgasm.”
